Serious Games

In addition to entertainment, Jackson Romero has worked on a number of educational simulators for external clients. These games have low turnaround times, typically 6-10 months, and require the team to work with the client to develop a simulator that meets their parameters. One such example of a series game designed by Jackson over at Flyguy is the CIS SEAD game. Made for Communities in Schools, the CIS SEAD game is a series of minigames designed to observe and collect data on the social wellbeing of students for the purpose of providing at-risk students with additional counseling resources. The CIS SEAD game was made with the intent of replacing questionnaires (which often lead to heaps of false data) with an interactive experience that naturally collects data and allows counselors to come to conclusions about the players’ mental health.
